As a storyteller you will gather a set of stories to tell in different places to different audiences at different times.
While this is good for your recall of nuance and shade and meaning in a story, it can lead to telling weariness.
You see, you know the end of the story before you begin the journey.
And if the audience is not as receptive as you would wish and the journey is long, and the telling place is not what you would desire, then it is hard to keep your compact with the story to tell it well.
Wise advice from an old storyteller to a young storyteller long ago is this: To keep an oft-told story fresh tell it to the only person in your audience who has not heard it yet.
They will know what it means.
And the story will thank you.
And so will you.
